It’s so easy to be instantly happy when you know what to do! Below is a list of 25 shortcuts to happiness which I live my life by, which you too can implement should you wish to do so. Start with 1 or 2 of them and watch what an immediate impact they will have on your wellbeing and happiness:)
⇒ 1. Wake up early in the morning and always make your bed up properly. Start the day by doing the small things to perfection, then it becomes easier to maintain excellence for the rest of the day.
⇒ 2. Meditate and reflect on your life 1st thing every morning. Start with a calm, clear mind and focus on what you want to accomplish for today. Be very specific with your daily goals.
⇒ 3. Always be in gratitude. Think of at least 10 things you are grateful for this very morning. This will instantly put you in an amazing mood.
⇒ 4. Drink warm lemon water on an empty stomach at least 20 minutes before eating any breakfast. You will feel fantastic!
⇒ 5. If anyone is bothering you in your mind, think of 10 things about that person you truly admire. Then reflect on the one thing about them that does actually irritate you. No-one is 100% bad:), everyone is facing their own battles in life, their behaviour towards you is more a reflection of their own internal struggles. Always be nice or at the very least, never be rude.
⇒ 6. Limit your time on social media, mobile phones, TV etc.. Decide in the beginning of the day, how much time you need to spend on technology and be mindful of how long you spend staring at a screen. This is the fastest way to regaining your energy!:)
⇒ 7. Before your working day begins, plan the day out in entirety, knowing exactly what you want to accomplish and how long it will take for you to do so. Always start with the end in mind, and only work with a specific focus and goal in mind.
⇒ 8. Only work in structured timebound intervals, with a regular break after each session. During these work sessions, turn your social media, telephone and everything else off. Nothing should interfere with your focus or attention.
⇒ 9. Go for a walk in the park every day! Be around nature, especially around a lake or any kind of natural water. You will be instantly recharged and feel so much more refreshed when you next come back to work!
⇒ 10. When walking down the street, make eye contact with everyone who walks past your way. Greet them with your eyes and be bold by smiling at strangers. Be the first to say hello and ask how they are doing, if the situation feels right. 9 times out of 10, you will put a massive smile on someone’s face, and trust me, they will be grateful for your presence for the rest of the day. 1 time out of 10, they will ignore you, but that’s ok, just learn to laugh at yourself, and do it all again:)
⇒ 11. Listen to music every day without fail, .but also, every now and then, listen to something completely new. You will be surprised just how much great music there is in the world, which you yet to enjoy!
⇒ 12. Eat healthily wherever and whenever you can, but if you are going to be unhealthy once in a while, it’s ok, just make sure you REALLY enjoy it:):)
⇒ 13. Never take anything personally. Nobody intentionally sets out to hurt you. Everything is just an experience, embrace it all and move on. One day, all of us will return back home, don’t get too hung on this temporary vacation we call life:)
⇒ 14. Honour the divinity in everyone. A small baby, an old pensioner, a single mum, a married stressed out worker, a homeless man, a policeman, just every single person. Everyone has a soul, everyone is made up of love at their core. Always connect to the essence of who someone really is. Honour and respect everyone.
⇒ 15. It’s ok to complain once in a while, just be mindful of what you are doing, get any negative thoughts out your system, but then be a little firm with yourself and make sure you quickly get back to your beautiful self. Nothing will tarnish your beauty quicker, than complaining, avoid it if you want to stay pretty:)
⇒ 16. If someone abuses your trust or breaks your heart, forgive them but never forget their actions. Life lessons come to us in all shapes and sizes, embrace and learn from them all, but you only need to learn these lessons once:)
⇒ 17. Allow people the space to change. Someone may have been horrible in the past, but they may be a completely different person now. Don’t hold onto past experiences, simply judge and assess every situation in the present moment. In reality that’s all any of us really have.
⇒ 18. Get aggressive and be determined in the pursuits of your important business and life goals. Forget about doing your best, do even better if that what it takes to make it happen. You have no idea how powerful you really are. If you can think it, you can do it!
⇒ 19. Never be afraid to stand alone in the pursuit of your dreams. Do not fear being mocked, ridiculed or insulted. Trust me, every single person who does so will one day become your biggest admirers. Never defend yourself with words, let your actions and massive success do all the talking for you.
⇒ 20. Bother your friends frequently, deep down inside, they will love you for it:)
⇒ 21. Never intentionally hurt or upset anyone, but if you do, quickly say sorry. People are much more forgiving than we realise.
⇒ 22. Never wait for a sorry or thank-you to make you happy. Live up to your own standards and simply let others be the way they want. Whatever happens, you remain the awesome legend you were born to be.
⇒ 23. Take some time out each day to spend with yourself and then to also extend yourself to others. Take the time to not only balance your day but also to transform someone else’s life. You will truly feel fantastic when you do.
⇒ 24. Live every moment with 100% enthusiasm and spirit… not even for one microsecond should you be concerning yourself with how others judge you, that’s their issue, not yours (unless you allow it to be).
⇒ 25. The ultimate secret to being happy with your life is simply to stop doing the things that make you unhappy. Happiness is our very nature and does not require any effort. Follow your heart, and your inner happiness will blossom, it really is that easy:)
